Bringing Magic into Mental Health: The Launch of The Witchy Therapist Podcast

As modern mental health care evolves, standard, one-size-fits-all modalities can leave clinicians and clients looking for deeper connection, symbolism, and intuition. There is a growing movement toward everyday magic: finding sacred, practical meaning in daily routines, archetypal wisdom, and somatic energy work.

I am so excited to share more about The Witchy Therapist Podcast, co-hosted by me, Charity O’Reilly! Together with my colleague Stacey Aldridge, we explore what happens when you step beyond traditional boundaries to ethically blend esoteric practices with grounded, trauma-informed clinical care. We launched in June, and the response has been wonderful. We love hearing every day from therapists who have loved the podcast, and we hope you’ll join us!

Everyday Magic Meets Modern Psychotherapy

The rise of searches around everyday magic, spiritual wellness, and holistic healing highlights a major shift: people want therapy that honors both mind and spirit. On The Witchy Therapist Podcast, we demystify how clinicians can bridge this gap safely, ethically, and effectively.

Integrating “Witchy” Tools into Clinical Practice

We’ve had an exciting lineup of guests so far, and we have many more scheduled to talk about topics such as:

  • Astrology as Archetypal Mapping: Looking at birth charts through a psychological lens offers clients a rich language for self-discovery, shadow work, and understanding recurring life cycles.

  • Tarot as a Somatic Projection Tool: Rather than using cards for fortune-telling, tarot serves as a powerful mirror for unconscious material, helping clients externalize emotions and process trauma in a visually rich way.

  • Reiki & Energy Work for Somatic Healing: Integrating energy work supports the nervous system, helping regulate chronic stress and release stored somatic tension alongside evidence-based trauma modalities.

What to Expect on the Podcast

Each episode offers real, candid conversations for therapists, healers, and curious seekers:

  • Deep dives into clinical tarot, astrological archetypes, energy medicine, and more!

  • Interviews with practicing clinicians who step outside mainstream boxes.

  • Discussions on ethical boundaries, scope of practice, and keeping client care grounded and trauma-informed.

Whether you are a therapist curious about weaving everyday magic into your private practice or a client seeking a more integrative approach to mental health, this podcast was created for you!
